Electric Guitar For Beginners

Electric Guitar For Beginners

Electric guitar is so cool but did you know that most of the famous electric guitar players started their guitar learning with regular acoustic one. If you want to be a lead guitar player you must bring your skills to a point that fretting over an electric guitar will sound natural and it is not easy for newbies since you have so much to learn – Chords, Tabs, Notes, Pace and Ryhtm and much more

The best advice is to start with online guitar lessons for beginners and progress from there.

Here is a nice article with basic tutorial for electric guitar players

An Electric Guitar Beginner Tutorial

This tutorial is for the electric guitar beginner who wants to skip learning to play chords on a nylon string guitar and go straight to the rock ‘n’ roll. If your musical tastes tend towards jazz, rock or metal, then you will probably want to start learning on an electric guitar. Beginner models are not expensive but you will have to take into account the cost of an amplifier.

When it comes to buying an electric guitar, beginner guitar players need to stay away from the bargain basement guitars you can buy from department stores. Go to a music store to buy an electric guitar so you do not end up with inferior hardware and electrical components.

If you are limited by the amount of money you can spend on an electric guitar beginner model, look for the Squier brand. They are generally adequate as far as components and construction go and they are modelled on the Fender Strat that is so popular amongst electric guitar players.

Set up your guitar in the space you intend to use for practice so that it is ready for every opportunity to play. If you do not have enough power outlets in your room so that your amp can be plugged in all the time, get yourself a powerboard. As you get into a practice routine, you will realize that there are plenty of distractions to take you away from focused practice time, so eliminating having to set up your guitar will be a great start.

Your practice time should be at least half an hour a day, especially in the beginning. As an electric guitar beginner you will need to acquire the muscular habits involved in getting the correct posture for guitar practice as well as building up the callouses on your fingertips. During the process of toughening up your fingers you will need to be careful because the steel strings of an electric guitar can have a tendency to slice your fingers which might mean you will have to take a break from playing while they heal.

As an electric guitar beginner, your posture will need to get some work but bear in mind that all adjustments to how you sit, stand or hold the guitar will need to be accompanied by efforts at relaxing your body, otherwise any self imposed rigidity will be bad for your guitar playing. The main thing is to keep your back straight. That’s where your arms and hands will work from. The way to keep your back straight witho 1000 ut forcing it is to lean forward a little, and don’t slump. If you practice for half an hour a day this will be enough time for your body to get into the habits of relaxed guitar playing.

  1. The Black guitar looks wonderful. I kept the poster on my wall and marked it. But The strings sounded softly and it was out tuned (duh). I accidentally Broke a string which i wounded up too much with the head and broke another trying to replace (even with reading the instructions). So since that didn’t work I will have to go to the music store and get a new string (E-1). I will have to get my Dad to do it this time.

I bought this guitar earlier this year and it has been great to play with. I tried out many different guitars, and they either didn’t feel good, or they were out of my price range. The first time I tried this one out, it felt horrible in my hands, then a month later I tried it out again and it felt perfect. The neck is fairly thin which is what I was looking for since my hands aren’t too big. A lot of reviewers say this guitar has bad pickups, but it sounds pretty good to me. I have a small 20 watt amp and a Digitech Grunge Pedal hooked up to it and I get some really nice sound out of it. I’ve learned to play with little difficulty on this guitar and recommened you try it out first to make sure it works for you.

SInce this is my first guitar, I can’t comment on how it sounds, as compared to other guitars. I purchased this unit solo without an amp (which I purchased at a later date). The guitar came prestrung (I’m assuming all come that way) however you have to tune it yourself. For me, the guitar seems to lose its tune almost every day. Now, this could be from various reasons but tuning is simple with a tuning device. It came with a cord and allen wrench for adjustments to the neck.

  4. This guitar is awsome. It looks killer, although mine did not come with the widow headstock, but not a big deal for me because it still looks cool. I read in some reviews it has bad pickups but I can’t say I’d agree. The guitar sounds great with my little 10w Marshal Amp so I don’t think the pickups are as bad as some people say. The best part of this guitar besides it’s looks is the price. I paid $200 for it here and you’d be hard pressed to find a guitar as good for that price range. I’d definetly recommend this too anyone wanting to begin learning guitar or even a veteran guitar player on a tight budget. Yes, It’s that good.

  5. This is a huge point, I wish I would have thought of this earlier.

  6. Nice lookin blog. Thanks for the info, I look forward to more.

  7. I bought a black one to leave in the trunk while I was at work, in case the guys called for a practice session, so I wouldn’t have to go all the way home to pick up my gear.

  8. Can you please send me the link of the tab of this song PLEASE.? I cant find any accurate tabs.

  9. Wow, for the price its impossible not to give this guitar a 5 star rating. This is better than most of those $500 guitars that try to have a nice shape. The design was what caught my eye at the guitar shop, and than i saw the price. The other reviewer said it had bad humbuckers/pickups, but he must have a crappy amp, cause this guitar carried a mean, tuff tone on everything. haha, its not a good idea to play acoustic style songs on this, as i’ve tried. Truely for the metal-hard rock lovers. But i play mostly Punk, and it gets the job done. You won’t find a better guitar, for this price; especially the looks.
